New 2011 Turtle Top Terra Transport XLT Commercial Bus

Turtle Top was founded in 1963 by the son of Henry Cripe when he came up with a design for an expandable roof to give his installers more stand-up space in their vehicles.  This roof was so successful and innovative that Cripe  wanted to incorporate the design to fit other types of vehicles.  Cripe nicknamed the lift able top "turtle top", which stuck and eventually became the name of the company.

Turtle Top initially targeted the RV market, yet in the late 1970's began transitioning into the shuttle bus design.  Richard Cripe, the nephew of Earnest was a leader in developing the company as a shuttle bus manufacturer.

Turtle Top easily proceeded into a variety of markets, including school transportation, medical, and emergency markets. One of its most lucrative contract sectors currently is government and municipal.  The buses can be fitted for handicapped transportation and the high roof designs make it easy for people of all heights to move easily about in the vehicle.

About 15 years ago, Turtle Top began marketing to the limousine and livery industry.  And today, Turtle Top is one of the premier ground-up builders.  The company that began with one innovative feature ...a roof, has become a serious contender in the bus market for many different industries and continues to produce innovative vehicles to fill those transportation needs.
