With Ford E-350 chassis' or a Chevy Express chassis to choose from each features power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, heavy duty cooling systems and OEM dash air and heat. The Crusader has Steel-Gard construction, foam insulation, galvanized steel exterior skin and large side windows are all standard. The typical floorplan includes forward facing seats, perimeter interior luggage rack, ADA Package with front lift and ADA package with rear lift. With floorplans that can accomodate four passengers to 14 passengers the Crusader is ready to travel with a small group or a large group of passengers. This bus is all that is expected plus more. Champion Bus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thor Industries. Champion was founded in 1953 and in 1972 built the facilities that currently house the operation that began producing Cutaway buses in 1981. In February 1998, Thor Industries acquired certain assets including Champion Bus, Inc. from Champion Enterprises of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Champion Bus is located on 73 acres in Imlay City, Michigan. With over 194,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 250 dedicated employees, they are able to produce over 1,200 mid-size buses per year.
Since 1999, Champion has been ISO certified and is currently registered as ISO 9001:2000. Champion was also the first bus company to be QVM certified by Ford Motor Company. The majority of the Champion Bus products have been tested at the Federal Transit Authority's, Altoona Pennsylvania, testing facility and all products are in compliance with Federal Motor VehicleSafety Standards. |
